The City of Mont-Saint-Hilaire has, since 2007, presented Créations-sur-le-champ Land art Mont-Saint-Hilaire and each year welcomes thousands of visitors! A bold idea was born from a collaboration between local artistic director Ms. Jérémie Boudreault and the Recreation, Culture and Communications Department of the City of Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

Créations-sur-le-champ Land art Mont-Saint-Hilairehas be come an important cultural event that has taken root in this land of ours. This event is in the spirit of land art which is to create from natural elements found on site and develops by allowing the confrontation of nuance and complexity of the proposed projects by the invited artists. Daring, innovative, outside the box, creating from nature, these are créations-sur-le-champ. For the public it is an opportunity to easily access art while taking a walk among the autumn colours.

The invited artists brilliantly face this challenge given by the city, to create a work of art within five days. Inspired by the beautiful tableau formed by the autumnal colours of Mont Saint-Hilaire, the artists immerse themselves in their creative process and directly share with the audience come to admire their talent!

Créations-sur-le-champ Land art

All of a sudden in the middle of nature something is organized differently, there is a staged area, branches draw a woman, a giant apple holds a tree, blue apples are hanging on a tree, apple tree suckers and apples form pyramids, the grass grows and takes over the pinewood, apples float like champagne bubbles, the pages of a book become sails, we are inside the creative process.

The participating professional artists agree to create live, they are painters, film makers, sculptors, theatre people, land artists, surprising and disarming, they challenge themselves and enchant us.
